CSD Car Purchase Rule and Eligibility

Before purchasing a car from CSD, it is good for us to know the car purchase rule and its eligibility criteria. So, here is the detailed rule for purchasing cars from the CSD AFD portal for different categories of defence personnel.

Documents Required for CSD AFD online Booking 

Here is the list of documents required for purchasing a car from CSD canteen.

1. A photocopy of the PAN Card
2. Availability Certificate of four-wheeler 
3. Loan sanction letter (If loan taken)
4. Updated Grocery ID Card
5. Loan Payment Receipt (Note: UTR and LAC no. should be mentioned on the receipt)

CSD AFD Registration Process 

Great, you knew the rules, eligibility criteria and documents required for purchasing a car from the CSD canteen. Now, let's go to the registration at the CSD portal. 

1. Open the CSD AFD portal or type “CSD canteen” in your search bar, and click the first link open in the search results.
2. If you are first time at the CSD canteen, click on new user registration.
3. After clicking new user registration, a form will open. Fill up the form carefully and ensure that you are entering the correct details. 
4. After filling out the form, click on the submit button. After submitting the form, your form will go further for verification, if any discrepancy is found in your entered details, your registration will be rejected or cancelled. It takes 2-4 days to verify your registration details.

CSD Canteen online car Purchase Process 

Here is the pre-processing that you should do before completing CSD car booking online.

1. Go to the Fouji Adda App, or if you have not then install it by clicking this link.
2. Open the App and click on CSD.
3. After clicking CSD, select your state, city, and car company, then click submit.
4. After submitting, a list of all the cars will appear that are available in CSD AFD Portal.
5. Click on the car that you want to buy.
6. Thereafter, click on Find Dealer. 
7. When you click on find dealer, a list of all the nearby dealers will be listed who are selling that car through CSD.
8. Contact dealers and ask for the availability of your selected car.
9. If the car is available, then ask for a quotation and availability certificate. This certificate is required further in the booking process.

Fantastic, you now have an availability certificate, which means your car is available and you can get it through CSD.

How to complete CSD AFD Car Booking Online? 

Now, let's complete the remaining online booking process at the CSD AFD portal. 

• Login to your CSD account by entering the correct details like username and password, and also fill in the captcha carefully. 

• After logging in, search your selected car on the left above search bar or search the car with the index number.

• Click on the car that appears

• Now choose the colour, price zone, dealer, depot, and Unit Run Canteen (URCs) for your convenience.

• After choosing all these, click on the Check Out.
• After checking out a form will appear, and your personal details will be pre-filled as per your registration details. Fill up the other details carefully, and upload your copy of your PAN card and Availability Certificate.

• In case, you have taken the loan, then upload the loan sanction letter and Loan Payment Receipt, you will get these documents from your loan issuer bank. Make sure UTR and Loan account number (LAN) are mentioned on the Loan Payment Receipt.

• After filling up and uploading things correctly. Now, click on Generate Demand. 

• Your generated demand application will go for further verification by CSD authorities. It will take 2-4 days. If everything is fine, a pay now button will appear on the demands page of your account at the right top corner. (This is for those who have not taken any kind of loan). After completing payment, it will take 2-3 days to release the supply order. Visit your respective CSD canteen to receive the LS order. Take this LS order to your car dealer and receive your car. But, If any discrepancy is found, problems with the suggested solution will be indicated in the notes section on the right side of the demand page. Solve the problems accordingly to get it done. If you are unable to solve the problems and need assistance then a chatbox feature is given in the notes. You can directly chat with CSD authorities and get help from them.
• But, if you take a car loan from AGI or any bank, your loan amount will be paid to the CSD account by the bank itself. That is why you get a Loan Payment Receipt, after checking and confirming the payment from your bank, the supply order will be released. Visit your CSD canteen to receive it, show it to your car dealer and bring your dream car to your home. You have completed the booking and purchasing of your car from the CSD portal. 

How to Collect Your LS Order after Payment?

Once you've made the payment on the AFD CSD portal, you are required to collect Local Supply Order. This particular document is required to show you’ve paid for the csd vehicle purchase online and are allowed to take the item from the dealer. Here’s how you can get it:

Step 1: Download Your Documents

After your CSD canteen online booking and payment process completion, log in to the AFD portal and download two things:

• Your LS Order

• The Authorization Letter

You can easily find them in your CSD account on the website.

• Go to the Shop Menu and click on the Demands Placed button and check whether the LS Order is released or not. If it is not released you will have to wait a few days until it gets released.

• Now, you need to visit your selected URC to get your Local Supply Order.

Step 2: Go to the Canteen (URC)

Visit the Unit Run Canteen (URC) you chose while placing your order. It is highly essential that you take all the original documents of the following with you:

• Your PAN Card

• Your CSD Smart Card aka  Grocery Card 

• Purchase Invoice

• Payment Receipt (in case of loan)

• Your Service ID proof (this depends on whether you're serving, retired, or a dependent)

• The Availability Certificate (confirming that the item is available for collection)

Make sure you carry everything original, no photocopies unless asked for

Step 3: Get Your LS Order Signed

A CSD representative will check your furnished documents at the URC. If everything’s okay, they will sign and stamp your LS Order.

That signed LS Order is what you’ll need to collect your item from the dealership later.
